Taxi Don’t Make As Much As You Think, Only $85 A Day

Now, after the ministar recent statement without clarification which caused a furore over the internet had many taxi operators scrambling to clarify that a taxi driver do not make as much as $318 a day.

That figure has now been confirmed to be before expenses and it is for two shifts. But how can a ministar be making misleading statements like those? I mean he did say “A Taxi Driver” meaning one taxi driver right? He gave the impression that the $11 extra was for a taxi driver right? If anything it should have been divided by two. Well, let’s not blame the ministar lah, perhaps it was the intern that prepared the data that ought to be Lewinsky-kaw-kaw. Plus the word earnings is misleading. All accountants will tell you earnings actually meant PROFIT and not revenue. He could have used takings for the day or even revenue but earnings.. hmmm..

Well, the bubble has burst. So all of you no need to queue up (why all singaporeans like to queue?) and apply to be a taxi driver..

This is is not the first time our ministers said things that are open to many interpretions. People always said politicans are tall tales storytellers. After awhile, you get used to it.

    Yes, I agree with miniman.

However, it’s surprising how much Singaporeans believe the wrong things instead of the truths.
